“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew – 28:19
We are a Mission Parish of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America . Our parish is multi-ethnic and multicultural. All of the Divine Services at St. Innocent of Alaska Orthodox Mission are primarily in English with some Ukrainian, Greek and Old Slavonic. In accordance with God’s will, we take part in the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Christian life, preaching and living the fullness of the Gospel.
As Eastern Orthodox Christians, we are committed to live according to all of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus commanded His disciples “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” so that all people may come to the knowledge of the truth and become partakers of eternal-life in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Our patron Saint, Innocent of Alaska fulfilled the commandments of Christ to spread the Gospel and we strive to do the same. Our Mission seeks to bring the love of God to all people and to give everyone an opportunity to share and experience our Orthodox worship in Oneonta and the surrounding areas.
